Is this background remover really free?

Yes. There are no credits, no signup and no watermark. The AI runs on your own device, so there is no per-image cost for us to pass on.

Do you upload or store my photos?

No. Your photo is processed inside your browser and never sent to a server. Only the AI model is downloaded, once, and then cached.

Why does the first photo take longer?

The first time, your browser downloads the AI model (about 45–90 MB). After that it is cached and every photo takes a few seconds, even offline. On mobile data, try the first photo on Wi-Fi.

Which phones and browsers work?

Any recent Chrome, Edge, Firefox or Safari. Newer computers use the graphics card and are fastest; phones work too, just a little slower.

Can I use the result for my business?

Yes. The photo is yours, and the AI model is released under the Apache 2.0 licence, so you can use the cutout for product listings, social posts and print.

The edges are not perfect. What can I do?

Photos with a clear subject and good light give the cleanest edges. Very fine hair, glass and objects that match the background are the hardest cases for any tool.
